De Pere

Town of Ledgeview residents need to go to the Town Hall, 3700 Dickinson Road, to obtain a free permit; residents of the city of De Pere need to go to the Municipal Service Center, 925 S. Sixth St., to obtain a free permit. Others may obtain a permit for $100; they must be purchased at the Municipal Service Center.

The compost facility is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, Jan. 1 to April 1. From April 2 to Sept. 30 it is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday from Oct. 1 to Nov. 11 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday from Nov. 12 to Dec. 31.

It will be closed on New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The compost facility is located on Rockland Road, off Brown County PP. Yard waste and brush may be disposed of at the city compost facility.

Green Bay

The Sanitation division operates 5 refuse trucks per day on each side of the river, and 1 special collection truck four day per week. An average of 105 tons of garbage goes to the landfill each day.

Recycling is mandatory and all residents are required to comply with recycling regulations.

Recyclable waste includes co-mingled items and paper, which shall be collected by the Department of Public Works for all residential properties with six (6) or fewer units per building, every other week on the same day as garbage collection.

Damaged bins can be brought to the West Side Municipal Garage, 519 S. Oneida Street, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., to exchange for a new one. Recycle bins are $8 each. Only Green Bay residents can purchase recycling bins. All paper and cardboard products must be contained in either a brown paper bag, bundled, or boxed and placed next to the recycling bins at curbside.
